Message from "da management"
The season is upon us, and with a bit of luck, the work done in pre-season will pay dividends. Both teams have got weekend and mid week fixtures over the next few weeks, so training will continue at Pilton all weather, starting wednesday 24th September. Training will be every wednesday 7-8pm and open to all players. This years squad is the biggest and best yet with over 40 players signed on. There are only 28 player places available each week, so all team decisions will be made with the clubs best interest in mind. Players required will be contacted about arrangements for games. The management team will be honest and approachable for explinations of decisions. Every one will have a big part to play at some point throughout the season, so keep up the good work at training. Good luck to everyone, but more importantly enjoy yourselves!

Fishing
The day's fishing at Riverton was great fun, with mixed success. Jason Hammond bagged 3 fish, including the biggest of the day. Rich Essery had the day's 1st catchwhen he manged to hook him self a rather large tree! Tim Nott spent most of the day having a fight with a group of ducks but then somehow managed to hook him self a fish.....through the tail!! Darrell and Stevie K resembled a pair of fishing Gnomes at the end of the lake, and the only thing Rob V caught was sun burn. Neil Tweedie got bored and decided to empty a whole bag of bait into the lake, so dont bother fishing there for a while as the fish will not be hungry! Thanks to Hammy for organising and for running round after a bunch of novice fishermen. £35 was raised for the club on the day, with another £40 expected from the "guess the fish" competition at presentation night.

Cup Final Golf Results
The 3rd annual "FA cup" golf morning went extremely well, with everyone having a great time. We tee'd off in 3 groups of 3, with the losing player buying the 1st round afterwards. Current champ Rob Vogler proved that last years round was a total fluke, as he was spectacularly de-throned by the bandit Neil Tweedie.
Results were -
- Neil Tweedie (38shots)
- John Huxtable (39shots)
- Darrell Spry (41shots)
- Jason Lewis (44shots)
- Jason Hammond (49shots)
- Rob Vogler (50shots)
- Bob Jewell (50shots)
- Mark Drayton (51shots)
- Richard Essery (52 shots)
Essery proved that his sporting shortfall's were not confined to the football pitch, and was rewarded by buying everyone a drink. "I thought the most points won" was his come back!
A great time was had in town watching the Cup final after. Pictures to follow.
